Strategic Financial Advisory
FAQs
What makes ECAP different from traditional corporate finance advisors?
We combine investor-side perspective with hands-on execution. Our team has experience across due diligence, fundraising, and transaction delivery - allowing us to provide commercially grounded advice and actively support delivery, not just strategy.
Do you support both fundraising and M&A?
Yes - we support both fundraising and transaction advisory. This includes investor readiness, financial modelling, and fundraising execution, as well as buy-side, sell-side, and due diligence support. Many clients engage us across both as their business evolves.
Can you support us through a full fundraising process?
Yes - we support end-to-end fundraising, from preparing materials and refining your narrative through to investor engagement, diligence, and closing.
What does investor readiness involve?
Investor readiness includes building a robust financial model, developing a clear investment narrative, preparing your pitch deck and data room, and ensuring you are fully prepared for investor questions and diligence.
Do you help with investor outreach?
We support the strategy, positioning, and process behind investor outreach, including investor targeting and sequencing. Our focus is on ensuring you approach the right investors with a clear, well-structured narrative.
When should we start preparing for fundraising?
Ideally 2-4 months before going to market. Early preparation allows time to refine your materials, strengthen your financials, and approach investors with clarity and confidence.
Do you work on buy-side and sell-side transactions?
Yes - we support both buy-side and sell-side mandates. Whether you’re evaluating an acquisition or preparing for an exit, we tailor our approach to your objectives and stakeholders.
Do you provide full transaction execution?
Yes - we can support end-to-end, from initial assessment and modelling through to due diligence and execution. We also take on more targeted scopes depending on your needs.
Can you help prepare for due diligence before a transaction?
Yes - we often support companies ahead of a transaction to identify gaps, strengthen materials, and ensure they are properly prepared for investor or buyer diligence.
Can you work alongside existing advisors?
Yes - we regularly work alongside legal advisors, corporate finance teams, and other stakeholders. We integrate into the existing deal team to provide additional financial clarity and execution support.
What stage should we engage ECAP?
We can support at any stage - from early exploration through to live transactions. That said, earlier involvement typically allows us to add more value, particularly around preparation and positioning.
How do you typically structure engagements?
Each engagement is scoped based on the situation and level of support required. This can range from focused advisory or due diligence to ongoing support across a full process.
Do you only work with large companies?
No - we primarily work with SMEs, growth-stage, and venture-backed companies, as well as investors.
What types of clients do you typically work with?
We work with founders, management teams, investors, and boards - typically in high-growth or transaction-driven environments where financial clarity and execution are critical.
How involved are you day-to-day during a process?
We take a hands-on approach and operate as an extension of your team - supporting day-to-day across materials, investor conversations, and process management to ensure momentum is maintained.
How is ECAP priced?
Our engagements are scoped and priced based on the level of support required. We're typically more cost-effective than traditional corporate finance boutiques - and we're happy to talk through what a relevant engagement would look like on a call.
Can you turn around FDD quickly?
Yes - we're experienced working to investment timelines and can adapt to the pace a process requires. We're happy to discuss your specific timeline on a call.
